question.gif Hello !
I use ffmpegX to make svcd from home movies, but 0.0.6 version doesn't work (I double-click on it, the icon appears in dock, and disappears immediatly). I expect it's because of my config (iMac G3 500, OS X 10.1.5). I use currently ffmpegX 0.0.4e, but it's not fine on my DVD player. I read 0.0.6 version is really good, but It doesn't work !

So my question is : what is the last version on ffmpegX working without jaguar ? (with OS X 10.1.5) ?

Thanks for your help !

Dear Major sorry to hang around on an old version of X which will not be developed anymore but I've not the money to buy Jaguar smile.gif. I've used for a while mencoder under linux, but I missed the mac-way of FFmpegX 0.0.3
Now I've downoladed all the subversion of FFMpegX 0.0.5 and FFmpegX 0.0.6 and all the packages of mencoder but I don't now which fit which to make them work with OS X 10.1.5. Can you tell me which version should I use?
Greetings

Try 0.0.6a and the binaries included in this file.

Dear major thank for your fast feedback:I've downloaded the binaries indicated and installed by Terminal both mplayer and mencoder following the instruction provided in the changelog file of O.O.6a, but I get this Applescript error:
NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 3 (1)
I've April2002 DevTools installed and I upgrade the applescript package to 1.8.3 version. Do you think should I switch to 0.0.05x or I can't use both FFmpegX and mencoder without Jaguar?
Thank for your patience

Dear major I get the same error with 0.0.5: I tried running from terminal ./mencoder and i get this output error:
dyld: ./mencoder can't open library: /usr/local/lib/libvorbis.0.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
In fact in /usr/local/lib/ I've got only the libraries for Tetex
Does it help?
Thank you again

Obviously there is something wrong with my system: Ican't neither use 0.0.4k. This is the output of my terminal:
Welcome to Darwin!

Output #0, avi, to '/Volumes/WORKSHOP HD/Ripped/prova.avi':
Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg4 (hq), 640x352, 29.97 fps, q=2-15, 1000 kb/s

Press [q] to stop encoding
dyld: /Applications/ffmpegX0.0.4k/ffmpegX.app//Contents/Resources/ffmpeg Undefined symbols:
/Applications/ffmpegX0.0.4k/ffmpegX.app//Contents/Resources/ffmpeg undefined reference to ___nan expected to be defined in /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib
Encoding complete!
Do you think I've to reinstall developer Tools and Applescript Packages?
Thank you

No, try instead replacing the ffmpeg binary inside the ffmpegX application package with an older one. But frankly, try to update to 10.2.

Hi,
I have also 10.1.5 and ffmpegX I got the same problem same message (script error) whenever I click on anything even the installer. Because of that I installed the menencoder and the rest via terminal. And it still does not work (same message). Reading previous poster message, his problem might be simpler. Maybe just a confusion between usr/bin and usr/local/bin.
