Help selecting a DVD-RW for PC with a DVD-R

Hi, I'm new to the DVD scene and have been ripping up some movies to a new PC as big ISO read files and now want to burn them to DVDs; however, I don't have a DVD recorder yet. I'm running home XP and have a DVD|PIONEER 16X ] and CDRW.

My question is does it make most sense to look at external or internal DVD-RWs? Seems like with external 1:1 recording may be possible...

Any thoughts or links would be great.

I have a new Dell with the internal DVD-ROM and an internal CD-RW. I bought the Sony DRX-500UL external DVD burner and have had nothing but good experiences.
Install was a piece of cake, just plug the USB 2.0 or firewire cable in and turn the DVD burner on and presto, XP recognizes it and you are good to go...
I have authored and burnt many home DV movies and backed up several of my DVDs without a problem...

But I think the main concern is a matter of money. The external drive was a 80 bucks or so more than the internal drive, but install was a snap.

I am sure this setup is not ideal, but it is pretty sweet for me.
