Hey everyone,
I just have a quick question that I would like to know the answer to: is it possible to use FFMpegX v0.0.4g without having the file "mpeg2enc" in usr/bin/mpeg2enc? I don't plan to do any MPEG2 encoding, only MPEG1, so I didn't think that I would need mpeg2enc to run my operations using FFMpeg. If I do need this file in usr/bin/mpeg2enc, please tell me so. Thanks for any help!

i cant understand why everyone makes a big to-do about mpeg2enc ... its the most fundamentally simple thing to install... download, copy to usr/bin, chmod to proper permissions... DONE... i mean come on ...
and ffmpegx does NOT ALWAYS use ffmpeg for mpeg-1 encoding, only when you choose mpeg-1 as the codec, if you choose mpeg-1 vcd it used mpeg2enc. so yes you do need mpeg2enc as a fudamental part of ffmpegx... i mean come on, is it really that much of a hassle, he has it all layed out in a simple as possible directions to install it...

Thanks for your reply, but I didn't expected it to be such a problem for you to understand. I am not the admin, nor do I know the password because it is our family's computer, so I thought that it would have been easier for me to have not had to install mpeg2enc instead of having to ask my dad to the password and having him install it. I didn't mention it to be a hassle or anything, and I do think that it is very easy to install. I didn't realize that other people were having a hard time installing mpeg2enc.

You also have to realize that not everyone in mac land understands unix even though their base kernel is coming from BSD world. Don't forget OS9 and below consists 100% of GUI, not unix terminal stuff.

Toisanji, quit quoting everything someone says. We don't need to read it twice. I'm not trying to be an ass, it just gets annoying after a while.
