What you have is the MPEG... now what you need is a program that will put that MPEG into a VCD format. I'm not positive, but my guess is the Microsoft burning software (what is the official programs name?) burns standard cds only (such as data cds and audio cds). To burn a VCD, get NERO, or VCDEasy ( <- i use this). Both programs are pretty easy to use. If you get lost, you should definately check out the tutorials on this site, they offer a ton of help on the complete process of backing up a DVD, and in your case, how to get them on a CD.
Hope this helps,
Mojo
