This question is for major and anyone else who can hazard a response:

I'm trying to encode a particularly difficult and long DVD. With ffmpegX-g, I get perfect sound sync, but choppy divX encoding. I was told that version g had problems with DivX encoding, and sure enough, it stutters. So, I used ffmpegX-d to encode. However, d doesn't seem to sync properly (it's making a 2+ hour move into a 1hr, 40min. movie). The encoding doesn't produce choppiness like g, but my guess is that it's not handling 3:2 pulldown properly. I've tried e and f, and they have the same bug as g.

So, my question is: How can I combine the proper mpeg-2 decoding in g with the proper divX encoding in f? If this is impossible, can I somehow alter the vob so that d doesn't need to worry about telecene?

Many thanks for your comments.

Waiting for a fix to the stuttering effect (linked to AC3 decoding), you can however obtain good results by following this method :

- decode first your audio into MP2 or other (this can be done very quickly by using ffmpegX and disabling "encode video").
- then select the extracted audio file in the "Add audio" field of the Audio tab, and launch the final encoding of both video and audio.
