Is there anyway to get the 3:2 pulldown on a VCD encoded in ffmpegx?

BileStyle posted a guide to in Sync (x)(s)vcd's with ffmpegX a while back. His new program AfroPic also fixes all sync issues. RNC also has a guide on his site to making in sync (x)svcd's with the Apple MPEG-2 encoder. Those are three ways that you can get perfectly in sync (x)(s)vcd's on a Mac. Right now, the ffmpegX way works best for me and I have made over 10 in sync SVCD's. All three ways are relatively simple and are, for the most part, full proof. Even though these methods are tried and true by now, for some reason lots of people can't seem to follow the guides and still find it impossible to make in sync (s)vcd's on a Mac. Go figure. Thanks Major, BileStyle, Ross, and everyone else who has worked so hard to make in sync (x)(s)vcd's on the Mac a reality.

There is no such thing as 3:2 pulldown for VCD. This only applies to mpeg2 ie: SVCD and DVD.

If you encode your VCD at 23.976fps your dvd player should automatically telecine it to 29.97fps. This is because the 23.976fps is supported in the VCD standard.

For SVCDS and DVDS the only supported NTSC framerate is 29.976fps. If you encode at 23.976fps the dvd player may or may not play it correctly at 29.97fps. With the 3:2 pulldown flag enabled the dvd player will always perfrom the necessary telecine to 29.97fps.

In short, if you are making VCDs just ignore the 3:2 pulldown. If you encode at 23.976fps you should be fine.
