ffmpegx: DVpal mov to 1 scvd. troubles

I have a Formac DVcapture box with which I can record TV programmes to my Harddisk. I want to put these TV programmes on a SVCD (as easy as possible, of course).
The capturing box encodes the quicktimes as "DVPal"
My source Movie is "Ossbournes.mov"
sometime after I start encoding there's a message that tells me something like this: "the file /xxxx/xxxxx/abcd.mpg already exists overwrite (y/n/a):"
whatever I type (y, n or a) the encoding deosnt seem to go on"
Most of the time its only a 20min-45min movie, so i only split in 1 chunk.

I also have another captured movie, where i deleted the commercials (cmnd X) and saved. After i hit encode there are hundrets of "Error decoding stream" errors

What would be in your eyes, the easyies method to encode a DVpal movie to a vcd?

Use another filename which doesn't already exist.

For 1-chunk just disable the "Split" checkbox.

How you named the edited movie? Be sure it ends with .mov.

For VCD, either use the .mov to VCD preset in ffmpegX, or the Toast VCD encoder.
