I have tried every menuing software that I could find but none had all the features I wanted. I decided to create AVI Menu. Creating a menu is simple:

Get the AVI Tools suite from http://www.dustyspy.com/AVITools/ and install it.

Step by step:

1. Load up AVI Menu.

2. Select Project -> Import AVI's

3. Draw a selection box around the avi's that you would like to add to your meno and hit OPEN. This willl generate the media needed for your files automatically, parse the file names and compare the hash codes of the files to the ViDNFO (CDDA for video files) database for more detailed descriptions and episode information.

4. You can now edit the information for the files you imported. NOTE: you can make mass changes, say every video file was from XYZ series, you would select all the episodes and type in XYZ series in the properties box.

5. Click on: Project -> Preview.

6. When you are satisfied with how your menu looks click: Project -> Build. Select an output directory and all the files you need will be created in that directory.

7. You can then burn it to a CD or DVD. The autorun files are already generated automatically.

---

Note: You can download additional skins for the menus if you don't like the way it looks or prefer a theme (Star Trek, Babylon 5 etc...).

Will these files play as a VCD? or as an htm page?

Thanks

This creates a menu for a data cd/dvd, not a VCD or SVCD.
The output type is html so it's platform independent.

What do you mean won't stop trying to install?
Run the setup program and thats all, I have tested it on my server machine and all seems is good. Installed and ran.

Maybe you should try getting the patched program, newer version.

Yes I am.

The program is fixed, it actually does not matter where it is installed but the InstallShield script just uses the default directory automatically.

The package had a bug in it that coused a runtime error but that has been taken care of. If I may try it again and post on the AVI Tools message boards if you run in to trouble.

Good Luck.

Wonderful idea with great potential, thanks biggrin.gif

Would like to be able to add music, see some more templates (how about templates for holidays??) and change colors of background and text.
Also some directions on exactly how to burn everything onto the CD.
