    Hi all,

just wanted to let you know there's a new hacked firmware for the A05 :

    1. Region free drive
    2. 2xforall (you can burn good quality 1speed discs on 2speed!!)
    3. Ripping speed limit removed
    4. All based on the original v1.30 (latest) Pioneer firmware

    http://forum.firmware-flash.com/viewtopic.php?t=12883

These guys at the Firmware Page sure know what they're doing

  2. Can I assume this works for the Cendyne 05 drives also?

    YES!!
All the other firmwares did, so why not this one?

There are some difficulties with flashing Japanese A05 drives (you have to downgrade to FW v0.58 and then all the way up again) but they're working on this problem at the Firmware page.

    Enjoy!

    Hi!

have done this firmware upgrade but now RecordNow Max can't seem to find my drive anymore!?! Neither after a re-install of the software.

seems that more things have been altered than stated!?

Can one 'downgrade' the firmware to the official 1.30? (this drive had it already when I bought it).

    Hmmm sorry porto,

there are just too many people whom had the firmware installed without any problems...so I don't think your RecordNow problem has anything to do with the firmware upgrade.

ps. en Nero v5.5.10.20 is veel beter voor stand alone compatibeliteit

  8. Do you know if they are still working on the hack to allow 2x writing to 1x DVD-RW discs ?

I was going to wait for that to be finished before i upgrade

The 2nd alpha version for 4x4all dvd-r + 2x4all dvd-rw is being tested on the firmware page forums as we speak...

my RecordNow Max problem has been solved.
seems that my hdd was to blame, it had a bit corrupted and some newly installed files were crosslinked with eachother... solved with a diskcheck/repair!

    sorry for the panic!

Cant say much for the new ripping speeds, but I can say this firmware update is awsome. Great stuff.
