  1. a real nebie question here,but when you have run throu the process with Tmpgnec and go to burn it to another disc-should it now read as an mpeg or vcd.

    TmpGenc produces mpeg's. A VCD is a particular way of layoing out the mpeg and some other bits of info onto a CD. Your authoring/burning program does this step for you.

    You are right about that!!!

    Whne setting up TmpGenc (I guess you are using the wizard) one of the dialogs should have the output filename and location. This will be filled in by default to the same filename and location as the input avi file expcept the output file will have a .mpg extension.
