  1. I have ripped My cousin wedding DVD with OSEx. And I want to make a SVCD, I use the quick settings for SVCD PAL, but when it starts encoding it displays this error:


    **ERROR: [mpeg2enc] Could not read YUV4MPEG2 header: system error (failed read/write)!


    What am i doing wrong???

  3. The apple quicktime mpeg-2 player component is commercial (US$19,99). Do I need it for encoding vob to SVCD?

    Is it mpeg2enc?

    I have installed the 3 components with the "ffmpegX engines installer"
    mpeg2enc, mencoder and mplayer.
    G4 400 Mhz AGP
    80 and 20 GB HDs
    288 MB RAM
    OS X 10.2.3

    It is needed to implement the "qt decode" option that you had activated, and that's the reason you had an error. You can however still encode without this component, either:

    -by using the "mplayer decode" option
    -by disabling both "qt decode" and "mplayer decode" (this will lead to audio sync problems with NTSC material, but will be just fine with PAL)

    I am using mplayer decode option, but it is very very slow (I think). I started this morning at 8:55 and now (20:22) it has still not finished. (For a 99 mins. long movie)

    It shows:
    V: 129.2 100232 97% 922% 0.0% 0 0 0%
    What does mean each number?

    Is the qt decode quicker than mplayer decode?
    If I disable both options will take less time?
