MPEG Audio Errors during BIN creation

I get a lot of MPEG Audio stream errors in the log window. I was wondering what these are and if they could be causing my SVCD's to stutter sometimes when playing back in my DVD Player ?
I am using TEMPGEng to do the encoding from from an AVI file that i captured from my tv ( actually my VCR runnig through my TV). I do not touch the audio section of the TEMPGEnc setup, it is normal SVCD Audio.

Wouldn't it make sense to post the actual error messages, if you want people to tell you what they are? If there are several, perhaps at least give one or two samples.

The error messages that I am getting are:

"non-MPEG audio stream header seen"

I get 10 - 20 of these per MPEG file ( encoded with TMPGEnc )

I also get a couple of

"mpeg: some marker is not set ..."

I don't think these are causing a lot of problems but I want to know what they mean.

Also is there a file somewhere that explains all of the comments that VCDEasy spits out ?

It would seem that TMPG is not correctly generating the audio stream. Are you loading the 'svcd' template into TMPG and then leaving it untouched?

If so, it could be that your source is non-standard, and TMPG does not know how to correct it. Certainly by selecting the SVCD template, it should output a compliant stream, but if the input is not good, it may not be able to correct it. I would look to the source for the solution.

Whatever is doing your capture on the PC should have some settings to say 'how' the audio is being stored. I would see if there's a way to capture the audio in a more compliant format in the first place (44.1k). You can also use plug-ins for TMPG to process audio, and/or use a standalone audio processing package (BeSweet comes to mind) to pre-process the audio before giving it to TMPG.

The first step would be to analyse the source audio, then figure out a way to correct it.

I do three types of authoring:
1) DVD rip ( I mean backup )
2) DV through my firewire to SVCD
3) Analog capture to SVCD

I know that the Analog capture has many lost frames and this might be causing a problem. But I also get some of the errors when I rip from DVD and this is a clean, perfect source ( smartriper -> DVD2AVI -> TMPG ).

On another topic; I do have a harder time making SVCD's that playback without skips and lockups when I use source material grabbed from my analog capture card.
I assumed that TMPG would eather fix any errors ar tell me about them. What type of errors could get through the encoding process ? And How can I detect / fix them ?
