Region Hack and/or Firmware Update for Sharp DV-S1X

Does anyone know of a place that has either of the aforementioned for this player: Sharp DV-S1X

I searched both the DVD Hacks/Players section of the site and couldnt find one so thought a forum post might yield some results.

Unlikely, sorry to say. The predecessor in Oz/NZ, the DV740X was manufactured by Sampo, hence it's ability to be hacked. Sadly, the S1X is made by Sharp themselves, and in their usual unfriendly manner the player is not hackable
