I want to make sure I am doing this right.

I have XP Pro and a Pinnacle PCTV card. I am using the new WDM drivers from Pinnacle. I can easily capture at 720x576 with no dropped frames at all.

I want to create SVCD or XSVCD's. I will be using mostly home videos. I will use the RCA ports of the PCTV card from my 8mm Camcorder.

I will use IuVCR with Huffy and YUY2? Is this right? I have to use IuVCR instead of Virtual Dub since it's WDM drivers. Should I use the enhanced WDM drivers from Iu?

I'm assuming I shoudl capture at 704x480? footage is 8mm and VHS.

I then resize it with VD then frameserve for TMPGEnc? Any particular setting to use in VD? Or can TMPGEnc do teh resize?

I have read plenty of advice for TMPGEnc and none of them are the same, so I'll experiement.

I just want to have an outline of the steps invloved and software needed.

    Thanks!!

    Lannie

    Looks good.

    I wouldn't use IUVCR's drivers, I've had bad luck.

Resizing can be 'cleaner' in vdub. That is you can crop first then resize, depending on the scene.

Remember that Huffyuv takes up a lot of room. Your looking at over 15GB/hour.
