I encoded a movie 104 min long at 750kb video and 112 kb audio but the file size remained the same 1024.5MB; the same as the previous encode attempt at 1150 KB Video and 224 KB Audio how is this possible?
Should I try the older Version of TMPEng?
As you would expect, the large file is rejected by VCDEasy prior to burn. I have read the guide for fitting a DVD on one VCD but my copy of TMPGeng doesn't let me into the bit rate changes through the wizard in VCD1 mode.
PS: Clad dvd XP the latest version boots to say "expired"dispite the Author saying the latest rev change fixed this problem? What els can be used instead?![]()

Just get an older version of Tmpgenc, because the 2.59 version has a file size output bug.
SmartRipper and DVD Decryptor seem to be the most popular programs.Originally Posted by jimnick

That link is no longer working. Any other places to get it???Download TMPGEnc 2.58,you can get it from here:

Thanks,

I used the 2.58 and it fixed the size problem, Thanks.
The wizard of the 2.58 still will not give me access to the Video BPS and Audio BPS. I want to size the movie by sliding the Blue bar graph or by adjusting the percentage to 100 as the "Newbie guide for fitting a DVD on one CD" indicates. Any advice for this?
err... I think all these people are wrong about that. You have to go in the system settings of TMPG and change the stream type to MPEG-1 Video-CD(non-standard). If it's set to just VCD, it will encode to 1150br. no matter what.
Im using TmpgEnc 2,57 and have almost the same problem whrn making svcd with subs. Look at my post at the lin below

Here you can get TMPGEnc 2.58 and this link works:

Download the new TMPGEnc 2.5.10, they fixed the non-standard-VCD filesize problem.
Version : 2.510. 2003/1/17
Fixed: In the Environmental setting window, General tab, checking Enable multiplex with... and chosing audio file other than mp1, mp2 or mp3 format would raise an error when starting to encode.
Fixed: In the MPEG setting dialog window, GOP structure tab, when Detect Scene Change and Force picture type setting were both selected, closing the dialog window and re-open it would clear the Force picture type setting checkmark.
Fixed: In the MPEG setting dialog window, System tab, chosing MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard) would in fact select the MPEG-1 Video-CD setting.
