pixellation and stalling

I am having a problem with pixels. This occurrs not at first but after the movie has been played several times on the apex ad3201 player. The first few times I watch it, everything is perfect. Then the pixels and stalling start. Any clue as to what I am doing wrong. The vcd's were burned with Nero.

Was the originaal a AVI that you converted, or did you download an Mpeg 2, both may have had the problem to start with.

Neither. This was a bin/cue file I downloaded from a newsgroup. As I said - the movie plays beautifully the first few times and then the pixellation and stalling start. It is not just one movie - this has happened to many. I would say if the problem occurred right off the bat - it may be the conversion or dowload. But this doesn't happen untill AFTER the movie has been played several times. Could it be bad disks?(memorex) or a bad apex player? I am lost as to what is causing this.

where do you store your disks?
does it happen with different media ?

after the disk goes to hell , have you then played it in another player and what happens ?

I store the disks in a paper sleeve seperately and they do the same thing in other apex players. Unfortunately I do not have access to other brands of players. I am really confused over this one.

Try doing a direct disc copy of the disc you have at a low speed, say 4 or 8 times, see if this solves your problem. I know this might not seem like it makes much sense and that you will just be copying any errors onto the new disc, but trust me give it a go. It is more than likely that the original disc has no actual errors on it, but it has been burnt at a high speed and your player is having dificulty reading it correctly.

I have burnt some discs at high speed, they have played once or twice and then the player cannot read them properly, they start to break up, the audio goes out of sync and they are basically unwatchable. Copying the discs at a lower speed sorted the problem. This may or may not work for you, but it is worth a try.

Sounds like the player then, copy one back to your hard drive see if there are any errors during transfer (Cheap disk problem)
