What is the best capture card to use with a satellite system (DirecTV) that is under $150? I have looked at AverTV Studio and WinTV. What should I use? I want it mainly to use as a PVR and to capture shows so I can burn later. Thanks.

I don't feel that you should be spending that much money on a simple capture card. I use an ATI TV Wonder VE which cost approx $45 but it captures excellent quality avi's from a satellite source which can then be encoded to MPEG2 as required.

Your source is digital so you do not need to filter or enhance the incoming signal to any great extent.

Your money would be better spent at least in part toward a larger hard drive if you do not already have one. To obtain the best quality captures, it is advisable to capture in avi mode which requires Gb's/min.
