anyone with a samsung DVD-611, or any samsung dvd playerHELP

Was wondering if ANYONE got the samsung DVD-611 (US Version) to play a VCD?? and if so, how?? I've made 4 coasters so far... please help!

I had a samsung 709, it only played standard vcd and svcd but it was very funny with the type of media it used, I could only get vivastar disks to work (UK) with a light blue bottom. So try and get hold of some CDR with a light blue dye and see what happens.

I USED to own a Samsung DVD-511 and it would play VCD's on CDRW only, NOT CDR's

I had a Samsung 709 and yeah it seems very picky about the media it uses. Blue Dyes such as the ones found on Princo Discs worked perfectly on them though.

I have the Samsung M301 and just got the samsung P421 for my mom. Media is a big problem. I switched to ACCU (purple/silver DVD-Rs) and have made no coasters since. I am making dvds though, not vcds.

Also, I switched from using Nero to RecordMax for my burning software since Nero always made coasters too for me.

I have a Samsung DVD-611 (European version tough) and it will play anything I toss as it.
Maybe you could change to a European firmware revision?
