MAXIM MX11-20 DVD player

I have recently bought the Maxim DVD player which supports MP3, SVCD, CD-R/-RW and Kodak format.

I have recently tried to use DVD+r and DVD+rw on it, and it seems not to detect the DVD+r at all and says 4hrs 19 min on the DVD+rw but won't play it.

Has anyone else tried this player and found a make of DVD+R/RW media that will work ?

Is the support for DVD+R/RW hardware dependant (in rom) or is it a feature of the laser used ?

I've managed to sort the problem.

I was using Nero to burn the DVD's. I found a post on here relating to the various ISO modes etc and problems with standalone DVD players. I just changed the format to DVD Rom udf/iso mode 1 1.02 and switched off joliet and other extensions.

I can now record on DVD+R/RW on RICOH disks that will play on my Maxim. I couldn't get a datawrite DVD+R working however (it skips), I assume media quality counts
