I'm looking for the best budget dvd player.. seems apex is really good.

The best APEX player I ahve 600a, 500W, 660

The 660 is hands down the best, why #1 reason, their rom chip inside is FLASH, which means you can upgrade your player to be region free, or no macrovision without opening it up. Plays VCD and SVCD's great, MP3's work good also, MP3's are the best on the 600A.
The 660 sells for $119 at Sam's club.

703 is best, I got one...macrovision off, no region dvd, and a 3 disc changer, plays mp3 cds, plays everything and is cheap as love...like $150...good player.
