PAL users capturing NTSC tapes

Does someone owns a PAL capturing card that can capture perfectly in NTSC format?
I have a Win TV PVR but when i cap it it's only in b&w !!!!!!

Are you set-up to capture NTSC? B&W occurs when a PAL system cannot read the NTSC signal properly, but I think your video should be outputting PAL or PAL60 anyway...or are you capturing off a multiregion DVD player...some of these output B&W. I know my capture software has an option to set for NTSC input...havnt tried it ye but hope that solves it, as I want to do the same...

Lambchop he using a VCR not a DVD player.
The tape he has are record in NTSC format he can watch them on his TV set in color but if hook up his VCR using RCA cable to Composite/S-Video adapter input in to the WinTV-PVR all he get a B&W picture win he try using NTSC input win setup the channel in NTSC format if try using PAL input the picture come out in color but it mess up http://www.geocities.com/shs_3dfx/images/capture2.jpg it look like this.
Take look at this do you see Composite/S-Video adapter in the small bag on the left side Lambchop?

Your VCR uses Quasi PAL playback of NTSC video tapes. This means it uses the 525/60 line/field frequency, but converts the color to PAL. So, the VCR is outputting a mix between NTSC and PAL. Most likely no capture card that capture this unless you can mix the scan rate and color decoding. You should select PAL 4.43 for color, and NTSC for line/frame frequency.

Hi I use the http://www.hauppauge.com/ capture card, if I feed an NTSC signal from the DVD player into it (And select NTSC as the source) I can view/capture the signal, the PC will display the NTSC picture fine, however its still being recorded as NTSC not PAL.

If you feed a PAL signal, you can view it on your PC and record it, but its still PAL, but you can then convert it with TMPGEnc to NTSC.

I can see the colour in PAL but i got this annoying problem, here is one snapshot from what i obtain:

Your VCR is probably converting the original NTSC signal to PAL 60hz like almost any vcr sold in Europe.

Unfortunately your capture card does not support PAL 60hz. You need a real multi standard VCR or a true NTSC vcr so you can capture the orignial NTSC signal.

Yes that's just a week signal from your VCR, a AVI amp would help, do you have the signal going anywhere else apart from going to your card. 0.3Mv is a good level I think. I know if I connect up the AVI out to several devices the impedance is high and I have seen out of sync on both NTSC and PAL but as soon as the level is up it stabilizes.

Don't think there is much you can do, is it the same at all capture sizes ?
