    I was sent this link from a friend. I have not heard of this item until he sent it to me. A bit pricey and no HDD. Any thoughts???

    $1299 on the street .. its brand new so expect the price to drop..

    some really nice features - component and s-video input (does not record progressive scan though), firewire input .. good player functions as well.

    uses only more expensive dvd+r dvd+rw disks though.
