I know that it is not possible to get a real dvd copy this way.
But is it possible to connect my (ATI 8500AIW)videocard to the video and audio inputs of my dvdrecorder(Philips dvdr890), play a dvd on my pc's dvd drive and record it on dvd disc with the dvd recorder ?
If so, what quality can I expect ? Is it better then (s)vhs ?
Or is it possible or even better to use a firewire connection from my videocard to the firewire input of the recorder ?
(I want to make some copies of an old cult tv series, which I can rent on dvd, so it is not my goal to get a super quality)
Thanks in advance,
Ton

I dont think those will work if the dvd's you record from have macrovision on them. you would need to bypass the macrovision protection somehow before inputting into the recorder.
dont know how to do this but im sure some searching would give you some answers
