    In the settings for CDRDAO I have speed set at 1x
    Every log I've made (several) always report the speed at 8x.
    It takes about a second to burn a meg so I don't think I'm doing it at 1x.
    Buffer is set to 64. Force driver is generic-mmc.

    Most of the recent high-speed burners can't burn a CD-R at less than 8x.
