  1. I am capturing and recording tv episodes to vcd. Captures check. Encoding check. Now that I am coming up with the VCD I'm running into a bit of a dilemma.

I want a VCD with two menus. First menu gives the option to play all or go to menu 2. Menu 2 gives you the option to play a specific episode.

I started by combining the mpegs of 3 episodes into one big mpeg and then laid out the menus using TSCV and chapters. Works pretty well but I notice by the third episode there is an audio lag of a second or so.

What's the disadvantage of using seperate mpeg "tracks", i.e. 3 mpegs per vcd, versus one big mpeg with chapters pointing to each episodes beginnning?

  2. "Multitrack" VCDs cannot be made to play seamlessly from one track to another. That is the main limitation. If you have SEPARATE episodes (i.e., seamless playback isn't important like it is in chapters of a movie), a multitracked VCD is the way to go...
