I'm interested in getting a faster DVD reader, since my laptop's drive and the Sony DRU500 only rip movies at around 2x. www.cdspeed2000.com has lots of drives tested, but I think those are data rates, not CSS encrypted movies ripped with DVDdecrypter or similar. Has anyone seen a comparison of drives for movie ripping speed? Or, could people post their results? Maybe we could compile a list...

  2. Lite on rips at min 6x to 11x. Inexpensive and great drive. Get on right away.

Thanks. That does look good, and I like my Lite-on CDR burner. After looking a bit, I think I'll go with a combo drive - the Samsung 332 is looking pretty.
