  1. Hi, can anyone tell me why after I've trimmed off the front and end of some (not all) mpeg-2 clips in TMPGEnc, there will be an audible 'blip' at the end? It only happens some of the time, but it's definitely there, as it gets transferred onto the CD as well. Is there a way to avoid this happening?

If you do not mind going over the same steps again, why not go to the Audio tab, select Audio edit, and choose Fade In and Fade Out. It should remove the audible blip.
    Hello.

  3. Thanks for responding. However, TMPGEnc does not seem to want me to be able to open an mpeg-2 file so I can get at the Audio tab to edit the sound. Every time I try, I get an error message.

I demuxed the file and tried to open the audio stream by itself, but one time I got an error message, and another time the audio editing controls were greyed out. I hope it's something fairly obvious that I'm just missing due to lack of knowledge, because there is nothing I can do so far that makes it work. The only way I can open an mpeg-2 file is through the MPEG Tools section. Every other way, I get a "file not supported" message, or "file pack error" message (forgive me if the wording is wrong, I'm not sitting at the equipment right now).

So I hope you don't mind if I ask you to walk me through it. Thank you very much for helping me out!

This is a registered version of TMPGEnc?

  5. It's one I downloaded from a link on vcdhelp.com. I haven't been prompted to buy it or register it, so I guess not.

that bleep in tmpg is an extremely old problem going back to some of the first versions of the software.

They were supposedly to have fixed that, and to be quite honest i have not come aross that problem in a very long time (via postings and such). This doesnt help, but their was never a reason why it does that, the only explanation that came close was that the video and audio were off for like a fraction of a second and this caused that beep.
