menu is where you select what to play.
subtitles are the words on the bottom of the screen.

Subtitles are used in a movie as a translation tool. The words that appear at the bottom of the screen. Usually it is is a "foreign" film. That is, foreign to you. Like if you speak French and the movie is in English, you need French Subtitles so you understand what thy are saying.

http://www.vcdhelp.com/edit.htm#subs for some guides on adding subtitles to your VCD.

Menus are used to select which scene you want to jump to and stuff like that. Like when you put a DVD into your player, you have the menu to choose whether you want to watch the movie, or see the special out takes, or behind the scenes....Usually driven by a number.

    crap like that.

Use NERO to add a menu.
    Totally different.

  5. Yeah, now I get it. I really don't need a "subtitle" then. I've done a few menu's in Nero. How about when you hit the "next" button and it skips forward (or back) 15 or 20 minutes. What's that called?

I personally think NERO is pain in the buttox with chapters. I always use VCDeasy.

    Its fricking EASY!

Haven't done a menu, thogu I use splash screens like nobody's business. I recommend VCDEasy.
