    i'm looking to convert an mpeg1 file (stats below) to some sort of streaming file or at least a small enough file that could be streamed over a LAN. i was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to what the best quality/file size compression there is.

    mpeg1
    1.1-1.5 bitrate
    320x240
    29.97 fps

    I've compressed a 30sec AVI clip to MPEG 1 using CBR bitrates of 1150, 500, 250.

    a Bitrate of 1150 is good at 320 x 240 and comes out 5MB. However I can't get it any lower even when using lower bitrates.
