    Hey guys,

    I was considering buying a portable DVD player like the Panasonic DVD-LA95. But I don't think the Panasonic one will play SVCD.
    Can anyone confirm if any portable DVD players can play SVCDs? Please give specific the manufacture's name and model number if possible. Thanks!

    The RCA 5400P portable DVD player will play SVCDs (it will also identify on-screen if your "SVCD" is actually a "CVD" disk). Although this player has a few issues, its flexibility is unmatched by any other portable player for sale in the United States so far. Search for it in the DVD Players section of this site and read all the comments. Its also now selling for less than $500. I purchased it just a few months ago and it was still $499 at Amazon.
