problem resizing avi files for mpg to make vcd

Hi ... I am having problem resizing my avi files in TMPEG when I am converting ...

No matter what setting I use ... I end up cutting off the bottom of the screen ... in other words ... when I watch the mpg file (after it's burnt onto a cd as a vcd) using my dvd player that's attached to my tv, the bottom of the screen .. about an inch .. is cut off ... but when I watch it on my computer .. it's not ... the setting I used is 4:3 display (I try full screen, full screen with keep aspect ratio, everything that was available) .. but the result is the same ..

can someone tell me what's going on here? Do I need to first resize my avi files in VirtualDub of something .. and then convert in to mpg using TMPEG ... please help .. any suggestion is greatly appreciated ... thanks

a home tv underscans the whole picture of what you see on your PC .. to make everything show - you have to make the image smaller ... by 8% - 10% on all sides ..
you can do this directly with tmpgenc .. set output size to 352 x 240 and in clip image set center custom size to 336 x 224 .. go back and make surte output size is still set at 352 x 240

The majority of movies nowadays are widescreen. Using Full screen(keep aspect ration generally means there are substantial black bars below and above the picture. Even with underscan I am surprised you get some of the picture cut off.

What he said, but also go to Setting > Advanced make sure the crop is not checked from a previous setting

sorry .. I am not very familiar with TMPEG .. do you mind giving me the detail of how to change it ... for ex. go to option>environmental setting>and so on ... sorry for the trouble. ..

There are 2 ways

Setting > advanced > video arrange method
Or

Setting > advanced > clip frame > Arrange method

The second method also lets you clip the frame to get rid of those bottom logo's or experiment with screen size.
