    I know the Apec 5131 will play a PAL DVD. The question I have is will the player play a PAL DVD on a NTSC television? Any help would be appreciated.

    All the PAL divx conversions I've done (25 fps) have played without any problems on 5131 to my ntsc tv..dont know what the difference between a pal SVCD and a PAL dvd are tho..

    Make sure TV TYPE is set to NTSC and not MULTI. Then it will output everything as NTSC.

    PAL SVCD is 480x576 resolution mpg2 w/44,100 audio, PAL DVD is 720x576 resolution mpg2 w/48000 audio. There are other differences (bitrates, etc) between DVD & SVCD too.
