  1. Hi, i use tmpgenc, but i cannot figure out how to go from widescreen to full screen. I have tried cropping, and resizing but i lose quality on picture. Is that because i am encoding afterwards? I would like to know how to do this without STRETCHING the video and ruining the quality.

    Thanks for your time,

  2. In TMPGEnc, go to the advance properties section. This can be done by clicking on the "settings" button at the bottom if your not using a template, or if you are using a template, you can select the following settings by clicking on the "expert" button after you select the source range.

Once in the advance section, change "source aspect ratio" to 4:3 625 line (pal) or 4:3 525 line (ntsc). Now select "video arrange method" and select "no margin (keep aspect ratio).

You can also select "custom size". Then in the 2 small boxes enter 448x288 for pal, or 448x240 for ntsc. This will keep the movie to the correct aspect ratio but at full screen.
