  1. I just downloaded battle royale and the .avi file is encoded with ac3 sound. I cant get TMPGenc to read the audio file to convert to mpeg, I cant get virtualdub to convert the ac3 to a wav format, I have found no good way of ripping the sound and converting it,
I can get the file to play fine on my computer, I have the right codec, but Im trying to make an SVCD.what else can I do?
    thanks for any help!

You look at the guides below these forums, and look for one with the title Convert A DivX with AC3 To VCD.

  3. I have been down to the help guides but all the programs i can find for ac3 conversion are dead links , ive tried downloading HeadAC3he and I cant get a working file anywhere. I ve been all over looking for the programs mentioned to convert ac3 but I never seem to find a working link.

Then go to www.doom9.org to download, and be sure to read the installation instructions.

And the official HeadAC3he website is up: http://darkav.de.vu/

    Vdub AC3
    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/do...irtualdub.html

    Or use Normal Vdub and..

    Audio > Direct stream copy
    SAVE WAV

Rename .WAV to .AC3 then use headac3he (get the dll's also)

  6. Ive been to the digital digest site and it wont let me download the file, it keeps taking me to aleech page, ive disabled my firewall and followed all the rules and still I get the leech page, also when I rip the wav file in vdub the sound is extremely choppy. ive tried numerous ways but I still get the choppy sound no matter what, this vdub w/ ac3 support sounds like the best way to go, if you know any other location for it or you can tell me what exactly ive done wrong in trying to download the file I would appreciate it.

thanks for all the help guys

I'll figure this sh*t out yet!

You only generally get that if you are using some sort of download-resuming software such as Getright or Gozilla. Are you?

Yes it is usually the firewall that stops the download, and also a download accelerator. you can also find it on Kazaa

I'm not convinced you have actually tried the doom9 site. I've never known it to be a problem.

Ok well it could be your browser security settings then, as soon as I switch off my software firewall (Hardware still on) it pops up with download accelerator, but I chose normal...

Anyway you got it now and from a better source

Oh yes I am. I suggested 2 sites that I personally tested before posting, and which work from behind a firewall. It seems the original poster was more concerned to use the digital digest site for some obscure reason. 8)

(Are you ready to admit you were wrong about nandub?)

  14. I tried from both sites but had no luck, before I downloaded I turned off my firewall and disabled my norton internet security, I dunno, it just wouldnt work, anyways I got the file from Kazaa, now Ive got to tinker to find out how to properly convert it .
    thanks for the help guys

If you have problems converting with HeadAC3he there is another way using Graphedit. The former is simpler though, so long as it works.

  16. How do I split audio and video in a DivX movie in VirtualDub and then export to .avi and .wav?

Load DivX. Audio>no audio. Video>direct stream copy. File>save avi (although there is no need to do this part.)

    Audio>Full processing mode. Conversion>select 44100Hz. File>save wav.

Of course it cuts at keyframes - don't you remember saying you must always cut at keyframes? But the neat part is, it finds the keyframe nearest to the size in MB that you want to cut to. 8)

How hard is it to admit you were wrong?
