  1. I have frame droppign when capturing, and not sure if DMA is ON or OFF. How can I tell, and change? This is my HDD:

    Seagate Barracuda IV 80GB 7200RPM UATA/100 9.5ms 25dB

    Is that fast enough?

    Thanks

Your harddrive is more than fast enough.

Framedrops can have multiple problems, like:

Your CPU is not fast enough
You do not have enough RAM
You mainboard is not fast enough
You have programs running in the background
    DMA is not enabled

Which OS do you use? Which CPU do you have? Howmuch RAM? Any programs running?(Like antivirus, screensaver etc etc)

Apologies, I did forget to answer your question.
As I have a dutch OS, I will translate and hope that I have the correct names for it...........

Go to start, settings and system. Select your hardrive and check DMA.
Under System, you can deselect "write behind cache" This might help for capturing.
