  1. When I capture from VHS to my Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP card, I get a
blurry line over the video signal in the bottom 10-20 lines of the picture. This seems to be a common problem, as I've seen it on numerous downloaded videos.

What causes this? Is there any way to avoid this problem during capture, short of cropping the bottom of the video off?

My system specs, if they matter:

AMD Athlon XP 1800 w/ ABit KR7A MoBo
    1 GB DDR RAM
Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP w/ WDM drivers
GeForce Ti200 video card w/64MB DDR
Philips Acoustic Edge 5.1 sound card
    7200 RPM Maxtor HDD 80GB

I'm capturing with with iuVCR because VirtualDub doesn't like my WDM
    drivers.

  2. And no, I'm not capping from a crappy VHS tape. It's a prerecorded
store-bought tape, and looks quite nice on my TV. Actually the capture looks pretty good too, except for the bottom.

On VHS, the top most and the last lines are used for some kind of additional encoding and can't been seen on normal TV sets (overscan).

I have also seen this when trying to capture at a size larger than the codec is good at. Slightly smaller size will make it go away.
