I am looking for the followingto do some business at a later stage in my country)

1)best and reasonable capture card($<150)
--VHS TO VCDS AND DVDS
--AUDIO CASSETTES TO CDS
--TV TO VCDS/DVDS
--SOME SPECIAL EFFECTS AND EDITING

q: external or internal is better?
which one?
no loss of picture or sound..or least?
works for NTSC and PAL?
works at 110volt and 220 volt?


2)Does video card and sound card really matter?

3)Motherboard/memory and prcoessor does matter, is
P4 2.2GHZ, 1GB DDR RAM enuf?

4)Where can i buy the capture card from?

5)WILL the capture card software have encoders? all comprehensive?
eg.
mpeg1,2,4,avi,others and conversion form one type to another.


CAN SOMEOONE GIVE ME AN INSIGHT?
I HAVE READ ALL THE INFO ON THE LEFT HAND COLUMN OF THIS WEBSITE, FOR PAST 2 WEEKS, BUT STILL I AM CONFUSED. I KNOW THEIR MIGHT NOT BE ONE CERTAIN ANSWER, BUT IF YOU CAN GIVE ME YOUR CHOICE, THAT WUD HELP ME.

Capture device for VHS and TV: Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250
Audio cassette to CD: Any sound card
Video editing: Ulead Videostudio 6 (Adobe Premiere if you have lots of money)

Many people here have spent many years learning how to combine video and PC, and is still learning. There is no easy "learn it all" method. You have to spend time trying it out, and see what works for you and what doesn't.

Audio cassette to CD: Any sound card MANY MAKE A HISS SOUND WHEN I RECORD, ALSO NOT ALL SOUND CARDS HAVE LINE IN'S I GUESS...MINE DOES NOT.

Is HAUPPAGE WINTV PVR-250 inclusive with software that converts all mpeg1,2,3,,4,avi types to each other? or is that depependnt upon the software that comes with the cd writer?
Also is HAUPPAGE WINTV PVR-250 (pci) better than others like DAZZLE 80 (USB) OR DAZZLE II STUDIO?
