Blank DVD+R media question. Some play, also, best price?

I have an hp200i, I made a dvd+r using hp's blank media. It plays in any player I put it in. I bought some memorex blank dvd+r's, they work in my stand alone player but not my portalbe dvd player. Is it the media?
Also, where's the cheapest place on the web to buy blank dvd+r?

Check out Compusa I got there brand in DVD-R and it plays in anything and can get them for $3.99 each, its worth the price since I have burned 40 discs and evryone been perfect, their DVD+R is the same price, they have recently drop the price on all their DVD recording Media, Also I use the Home DVD Recorder by Panasonic DMR E-20.
