  1. I am using a Gateway 700xl. I am using Video Vegas 3 to put a slideshow together with pictures, music, and nice transitions. When I render an AVI or MPG file everything works perfectly. Then I use either Ulead Moviefactory or DVD Workshop to put together a DVD or SVCD. When I burn an SVCD (using my CDR/W burner) everything looks and runs perfect on both of my DVD players (Pioneer 333 and JVC 95fa).
Now when I burn a DVD-R on my Panasonic 311 DVD-RAM it looks and runs perfectly on DVD-ROM computer drives. However, when I insert the disks into my stand-alone players there is either no audio (Pioneer 333) or the audio is completely distorted (JVC). The menu systems on both the SVCD and DVD-R seem to work perfectly.

I have also installed VW 5 and successfully burned a DVD-R but I have the same problems. I am going to deinstall VW 5 since I don't like the editing or burning interface.

What the heck is going on?

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  2. I am stumped. I just used DVD Workshop to burn a Disc Image file of the DVD. And then I used Recordnow MAX and same problem. Looks and runs perfectly on DVD-ROM (PC drives) but on stand alone players it does the following: Pioneer 333 (Video is perfect, no sound), JVC (Video is perfect, Sound is EXTREMELY distorted).

    What do I do? I have burned 6 DVD-R semi-coasters! :(

    Thanks.

  3. Allright, the plot thickens.... Last night I used DVD Complete and burned a disc and it worked perfectly. What I did was I changed the audio settings from MPEG to WAV. End result, is that video&audio played perfectly on my Pioneer 333 which before didn't play anything. It played fine on my JVC.

What I don't understand is that my JVC can handle MP3s, but in the previous burns from DVD Workshop and Moviefactory, the sound is extremely distorted. Could it be the media I am using? The picture is flawless, however. Can one adjust the sound compression settings on DVD workshop or Moviefactory? Or can I change the compression scheme in Vegas? Is this a feasible solution? I am going to try and play the previous burned disc on some other players and see what happens.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.
