  1. Just out of curiosity...
I stumbled over DivX10 High quality MP4 player.
Said to Play MP4, DivX, AVI, MKV and MOV videos, including new DivX HEVC.
    (see divx website)

I have nót installed it but rather preferred to read the comments first.
However, going thru the long list of video players, I think it is not listed there at all (?)

    Any specific reasons?

Again, I haven't installed it and probably will not do it as there is no review here.

  2. I've never used it but I see they want you to download an online installer which you'd run and it would download the required files and install them..... one of my pet hates.

Edit: I found a link to the full offline installer on the DivX site if you're interested. They don't offer it as a normal download (not that I could find), but a link was posted in response to a support question about six years ago, and obviously they never change it and simply replace the old version of DivXInstallers.exe with the latest one.

    The direct link: http://download.divx.com/divx/standalone/DivXInstaller.exe
Which can be found halfway down this page. http://labs.divx.com/node/14950

Sorry, I can't help with the player as I've not used it, but I thought I'd mention that in case you're interested. For the record, the VideoHelp page for the Divx software is here: https://www.videohelp.com/software/DivX-5

  3. Many thanks for taking the time to investigate this. Really appreciate it.
Thanks for the link as well. I download the file and will give it a try, lateron this week.
On a VM, to see what it does.
Right now I have downloaded and installed VLC.
    Once again, thanks!
