Hello, I'm new here, but not new to mac. For years I've downloaded clips, in various formats, and usually just found a workaround to view them within Quicktime Pro. But, I've grown tired of having to use 3rd party programs like Flip4Mac.
In a lot of cases, I have older WMV2 files, that I used to be able to watch using Flip4Mac, but since a new install, I have to re-install, and pay for the F4M program, which I don't want to do.
Are there any available command line scripts, that can interpret the WMA, WMV2 codecs to work natively in Quicktime Pro? Or, are there any "FREE" applications that can convert these WMV2 files into native .MOV, or MP4 files - with sound and video?
EXAMPLE: I just did "Get Info" on a file I have, it says:
Codecs: WMA2, WMV2
Audio Channels: 2
I used to watch it via F4M, but I want to find another way. Is there one?
Thanks.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

edit: Ooops, just re-read your post more closely and realized you don't want to use it.
