My sister in law is a painter. and for time lapse video she wrote out sentences in a painting then painted back over them. This was to send out a message that was in the painting. but the footage is to fast so you can't read the painting. how do i Slow it down enough you can read what she wrote. I really need the help Im new to this. I have imovie. are then any apps I can put on my phone that would slow it down? Thank you so much

I don't know anything about imovie (or any Apple product for that matter), but there should be a setting to reduce speed. You can always set play framerate to something like 10 fps, then change the framerate to 30 fps. That should give 3 copies for each frame.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
You can probably just change the frame rate in the file header and avoid any reencoding.
