I've done that and changed txt to avs.

Now when I drop it into VD it says

    Avisynth open failure:
    AVIsource couldn't locate a decompressor for fource v 210 (C:\Users\Tim 2\Documents\myclip.avs, line 1)

    fourcc v210?

Maybe ffdshow's VfW interface supports it — you would have to enable "Raw video" + "all supported formats", I presume.

OR, you might want to try:

    ^ UPDATE:

    1) ffdshow VfW did not work

    2) the Drastic TV codec didn't work either ("error decompressing frame 0" )

    3) DirectShowSource() w/ LAV Video does work

But just dropping the clip into VD plays fine. It's only dropping the document into VD which doesn't work. So it can't be that VD wont play the codec. It's all this (clip.avs) stuff which doesn't work.

But it's because VirtualDub has an internal v210 decoder.
OTOH, AVISource() requires VfW codecs. DirectShowSource() uses DirectShow decoders (of course).

If you think Avisynth is "too difficult" for you, then just give up.
