I captured this file from via the Firewire port on my set top box. The box is a Pace RNG110 through Comcast. At one point I was able to play these m2t files with VNC, but I'm not sure what happened. I can use Handbrake and convert the file to mp4 or mk4 without a problem. I'm using Version 2.2.2 Weatherwax (Intel 64bit) on OSX Yosemite.

Yep. The clip does not work in VLC 2.2.2. But it works fine in PotPlayer and SMplayer for Windows.

You could try MplayerX for Mac.

Or try remux your m2t with tsmuxer and make a new ts/m2ts file and see if it plays. No video file reconversion.

  8. You did press the play button right? Tested it here on my Mac Mini with OS X 10.11.3 using the latest build from http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/macosx-intel/.
(also tested on 64bit Windows and Linux)
