  1. I am having trouble figuring out the 50 greatest superbowl commercials that aired on CBS earlier this year.

    Here is the link: http://www.cbs.com/superbowl/video/TUT5cTLvvH0Mm9khepT8j8RZlBoA_cvY/super-bowl-greates...mercials-2016/

I have tried -g -f -F in youtube-dl and tried different plugins with livestreamer but nothing is getting me to be able to download.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Sam

    hi

open this link and you can find the m3u8 url (max 720p)

    Code:
    http://link.theplatform.com/s/dJ5BDC/Ye6tUPSR3tLW?&manifest=m3u&mbr=true&callback=jquery
    then

    Code:
    livestreamer "hlsvariant://M3U8-URL" best -o video.ts

  4. OP, if you're still reading this thread, @sysanin's solution worked best for me. I couldn't figure out Livestreamer, but youtube-dl worked great.

The code for downloading (if you want the best video) is

    Code:
    youtube-dl -f rtmp-1928-8 "http://link.theplatform.com/s/dJ5BDC/c_JRzmu_MVPR?format=SMIL&manifest=f4m&Tracking=true&mbr=true"
Took me about an hour and a half to download on a 3Mb/1.5Mb DSL connection (so if you want to grab a Bud to share with your favorite Clydesdale -- or a Coke with "Mean" Joe Greene), but I now have a 1.2GB Flash Video file that plays just fine (and doesn't look pixelated or cruddy) in VLC. Which is great, because I can watch it offline and not have to worry about buffering or bad quality on a slow connection out in the boonies.

    GO BRONCOS!!!

Perfect! Thanks. By the way, link.theplatform.com does what? I am not finding how to use it.

Nevermind, I figured it out after needing the Tony's video! For future reference: use inspector to find link.platform.com link and then use youtube-dl to find which quality you want. (this is so I don't forget!)
