When you put a tape in the VCR it starts playing on a higher speed then normal and after 15 seconds the VCR stops running and switches off.
When switching on again the cycle repeats with playing on higher speed and switching off.
When I opened the VCR I saw a small white plastic strip falling out of the machine.
Can anyone tell me if this could be the cause and where the small plastic strip comes from as I do not know where to replace this one.
    See two pictures below.

My guess is that the separated part belongs with the large white plastic assembly, which has to do with transport modes. Your deck thinks it's supposed to be in FF scan and the micro eventually shuts it down due to inconsistent machine state. You'll need the service manual to sort it out, which may be available at http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/9662/JVC_HR-S7500.html.

Unfortunately the service manual as indicated in the link contains a corrupted file. I checked another link http://elektrotanya.com/jvc_hr-s7500ek.pdf/download.html with the service manual but could not trace the white plastic part.
Is there anyone who might have a picture of the inside of the JVC machine as the one above but with the white plastic part included in the right place?
