I downloaded VLC for Mac and when I try and save a clip for editing from a DVD, the video plays without audio and when the video ends, the audio starts playing. This remains the same when transferred as well. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this??

Is this from a commercial/retail DVD? If so, you might try ripping the DVD before attempting to use VLC to transcode (use VLC to transcode from the rip, not the DVD itself, in other words).

Just to be safe, you might also use one of the OS X variants of MediaInfo, like VideoSpec or iMediaHUD, for example, to show information about the result video, and cut-and-paste the information here for others to examine. VLC has its own feature for showing such information, but it tends to be limited. Just make sure the app you're using to get information shows as much info as possible before copying it to show here (usually text/tree mode in MediaInfo itself, the other apps probably vary.)

Does the video play with the same results in any other player?

How are you saving the video from the DVD?

Have you tried to play the clip on other players?

Does this problem happen with all DVDs?
I assume you have done this before.

Some DVDs have multiple audio tracks.

Not enough information to say why the synch is off so far.

    And welcome to our forums.
