  1. hi there.

i am trying to do a real simple thing. i have an ISO Image of a Full bluray 3D Title.
i want to make 1:1 copy
to Extract just the main Movie to an MKV file. - which will also be 3D.

using Makemkv. i am choosing just the main movie like so:

at the end of the process - i get a mkv file that is 2d. not 3d.
    Why is that ?

Because it probably isn't a 3D Bluray. A 3D BluRay in MakeMKV should look like this:

Mpeg4 is the main video stream and Mpeg4-MVC-3D is the second stream.

What you can do to double-check:
    - unpack/digitaly mount your disc on your computer, (I use Virtual CloneDrive)
    - Check this folder: F:\BDMV\STREAM\SSIF

If there is a SSIF folder with a .ssif file, it's a 3D BluRay. If not, it's just a 2D BluRay.

    hmmmm.... strange.
    - What version of makeMKV are you running?
    - Can you make a screenshot of the SSIF folder and a screenshot of the "Title information" of the movie from MakeMKV?

The text on the right is title information. Most of the times, the source file name is the same as the SSIF file name.

You can also try putting the ssif file in tsmuxer and creating a new iso with only the movie and open that file in makemkv.

If you want a 3D version, you'll have to select all of the video stream (MVC&H.264). You can select the audio you want. Be sure that you select "Create ISO".

But doesn't MakeMKV recognize the new 3D ISO? Does is still not say anything about MVC?

Ah, but you can't just play the 3D MKV. It's not as simple as a SBS or OU MKV. you'll have to install special players like stereoscopic player.

    hello,
how to make a MKV in format SBS or HOU from ISO image . . .
    1. MakeMKV - will never do that ( just forget MakeMKV )
    2. install virtual BD ( recomended freeware : Virtual Clone Drive )
    3. install frame tool : Avi Synth Plus ( freeware )
    4. install converter : bd3D2mk3D ( freeware )
    Now follow simple steps :
    1. mount ISO Image as a drive using Virtual DB
    2. run bd3D2mk3D :
    - open this virtual drive as source 3D
    - choose codec ( AVC or HEVC ) from Settings
    - choose stereoscopy mode ( HOU or SBS ) from Options
    - press "DO IT" to start converter
... and in the end - don't forget to smile
