  1. I've downloaded some .flv video files recently and noticed they're really small in Windows Media Player but play better in VLC Media Player. I wanted to convert them to play on a Mac. What would be the best way to convert and enlarge them? Thanks.

Enlarging videos don't make them any better, all it causes it larger files.

The only exception is when you apply intelligent filtering to a source, in such cases it may sometimes be better to have more pixels to work with.

Any video you enlarge will suffer, and while filters that newpball suggested, will help, most small downloaded video FLV's are already marginal but may look ok when played in small size through a good player. Be aware that they may look very bad when enlarged even with help.

I download many FLV and almost always try to enlarge and clean them for my use and some clean up OK and some do not. I use a canned program that is based on FFMPEG and FFMPEG may be your simplest bet in my opinion although their are others that take less learning curve.
