I don't use Premiere, but if you need to edit vp9 webm, you can do it in Virtualdub via ffmpeg input driver. You can also edit vp9 webm directly in Aviutl.

I do have an old version of Premiere (version CS3), but I'm not going to install it just to test out some plugin.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

Just a guess, but it seems the API has changed gradually but continually with each version iteration, so it's probably likely that the plugin doesn't (fully) support the most recent version(s).

...I tested the WebP plugin in Photoshop (both v7 and CS3). Opens with both. Don't have time for testing WebM ATM.

    I suspect you are right.

This would just be a nice to have as there are obviously simple workarounds, what is a bigger problem is that the debug frameserver for Avisynth fails on PP but that is another topic.

Latest version at least let's me start encoding.

After awhile get 'unknown error', not very helpful!
    https://github.com/fnordware/AdobeWebM

But 45 seconds of video did actually render through PP and plays directly in a browser.

    Anyone else playing with this?

Could you try the release version and let me know if you still have any problems?

You could also file a bug as an issue in GitHub.
